Donated equipment delivered to Haiti orphanage

In March and April 2010, Los Gauchos Soccer Club teamed up with Trinity Church in Redlands to send used soccer equipment to an orphanage in Haiti.  This month, 47 donated balls, 66 pairs of boots, 13 pairs of shinguards and 87 jerseys were successfully delivered.

A team of 12 from Trinity Church traveled to Port au Prince, Haiti, May 12th to serve at the His Home for Children Orphanage. The orphanage currently has a staff of 37 full or part-time workers who care for 126 children from birth to 16 years old. Children are brought to this orphanage because some families are unable to care for them, or because they are completely abandoned. The team from Trinity Church will be constructing an outdoor toilet and shower facility, doing maintenance at the orphanage and spending time with the children as well.

The team will return May 27th.  You can follow the team and learn more on their blog.
